The environmental policy of Schwäbische Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH

The goal of Schwäbische Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH in Waldmössingen is the avoidance of
environmental pollution wherever possible. If this is not possible, we try to reduce continuously
polluting emissions, waste volume, noise, consumption of energy and ressources using the
optimum technology available as far as justifiable from the point of view of economy.
We ensure correct and certified waste transport and waste disposal.
We endevour to review and to evaluate the environmental impact caused by the operations and
products within our company and to improve them continuously considering economic adequacy.
We shall take all measures to prevent environmental hazards and accidents or to keep their impact
as low as possible. Of course, we are cooperating with the competent authorities.
We undertake to observe the environmental laws and regulations relevant for our company. In order to
come up to this standard in all sectors of our company at any time, a comprehensive environment
management system according to ISO 14001 has been introduced and steadily developped in terms
of a continuous improvement.
This system is being integrated in 2008 in our existing management system according to ISO 9001
and VDA 6.4.
