A couple of facts to start with
Emerging from Heckler & Koch GmbH, the young company SW has a story rich in tradition. 1981: activity within the Heckler & Koch Group as an independent line of business under the name Heckler & Koch Maschinen- und Anlagenbau GmbH. A highly innovative group of companies offering a diversified assortment of products. 1991: take-over of the Heckler & Koch group by British Aerospace. Alterations: concentration of the British group on defense and aerospace technology. Exclusion, amongst others, of the business lines mechanical and plant engineering. 1995: The management recognizes the opportunity: foundation of Schwäbische Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH. Shareholders: Walter A. Lamp and Dieter Kroll. An asset-deal means continuity, and guarantees the assumption of all obligations towards customers, suppliers and employees. 2004: Saving the future: due to the sale to the EMAG Maschinenfabrik GmbH in Salach the succession of shareholders is guaranteed resulting in an considerably increased presence on international markets. This new configuration allows an increased turnover since 1995 and safeguards employment for the next years. |
2008: In October 2008 all company shares of Schwäbische Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH have been transferred to the newly founded Süddeutsche- EMAG Verwaltungs GmbH. The Süddeutsche Beteiligung GmbH with its headquarters in Stuttgart has taken over 70% of the Süddeutsche-EMAG Verwaltungs GmbH; via the trading company EMAG has still a 30% share on SW. Number of employees in Waldmössingen: 287 (as per January, 2010) SW is certified according to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and VDA 6.4 |
